General

What is Revaniq?

Revaniq is a smart home technology company focused exclusively on innovative retrofit solutions. We create products that transform existing home infrastructure into smart, connected devices without requiring extensive renovations or replacements. Our core products include the Smart DIY Relay, Smart Garage Door Opener, and Smart IR Remote Beacon, all built on the Tuya IoT platform.

What makes Revaniq producta different from other smart home devices?

Revaniq products are designed with a "retrofit, not replace" philosophy. Unlike many smart home solutions that require you to replace existing devices, our products work with your current infrastructure. This approach makes smart home technology more accessible, affordable, and easier to implement. Additionally, all our products are built on the Tuya IoT platform, providing enhanced security, universal compatibility, and advanced automation capabilities.

How do I control revaniq devices?

Revaniq devices can be controlled in multiple ways:

  • Through the 'Smart Life' mobile app (available for iOS and Android)
  • Via voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Home, after integrating the accounts with Smart life account
  • Through automated schedules, scenes, and routines set up in the app
  • Using the original physical controls (e.g., your light switch will still work normally with the Smart DIY Relay installed)

Troubleshooting

My device won't connect to Wifi. What should I do?

If your device won't connect to WiFi, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz (not 5GHz)
  2. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the same WiFi network
  3. Check that your WiFi password is correct
  4. Move the device closer to your router during initial setup
  5. Restart your router
  6. Reset the device by pressing and holding the reset button for 10 seconds
  7. Try the setup process again.

My Smart Relay is installed, but the light won't turn ON-OFF. How to fix?

If your Smart DIY Relay is installed but not controlling your light properly, check these common issues:

  1. Ensure power is restored at the circuit breaker
  2. Verify all wire connections are secure and properly connected according to the installation guide
  3. Check that the load wire is connected to the correct terminal
  4. Make sure the switch is in the ON position
  5. Verify the device is connected to WiFi and appears in the Revaniq app

If the physical switch works but app control doesn't, try resetting the device and reconnecting it to WiFi.

What happens if my Wifi goes down?

If your WiFi goes down:

  • Your physical controls will continue to work normally (e.g., wall switches, garage door buttons, original remote controls)
  • Remote control via the app will not be available until WiFi is restored
  • Voice control and automation features will not work until WiFi is restored
  • Your devices will automatically reconnect when WiFi service is restored
  • Any scheduled automations that were supposed to run during the outage will not be executed

No data or settings will be lost during a WiFi outage.
